Unlike that Christmas tree taking pride place in your living room right now, your Entrepreneurial Mojo doesn’t need to die a slow death over the holiday period. In fact, a little time off is hands down the best investment you can make to ensure world-domination style success in 2016.

Success is simply a series of good habits. So here’s my recommendations for the top five you should dial in over the holiday season, which will see you take on 2016 with the same ambition that Santa takes on Christmas Eve travel.

 

1. Say ‘Yes’ More Often

And just imagine what could happen?! You could find yourself an all-night dance party, on a plane to Sweden, road tripping the West Coast – the possibilities are endless and incredibly exciting. So ditch ‘no’ as your default and bring on the summer of yes!

 

2. Scare Yourself Once A Day

Growth happens right at the edge of your comfort zone. So be prepared to get scared, take risks, and make friends with adrenaline. Personally I’m not too keen on sharks (I kind of sweat in water when I can’t in the bottom). An open ocean swim scares the Tigerlily bikini bottoms off me! So smack bang on my summer ‘to do’ list if the Bold and The Beautiful Swim, which for the record, is extra sharkey because it done at sunrise..!

 

3. Turn Up Your Gratitude

If like me, you’re reading this on an iPhone, your desktop Mac, or your fancy pants tablet, I’m guessing you’ve got a fair bit to be grateful for. Be it clean water coming out of the tap, fresh air in abundance, or a beach within easy driving distance (if the Aussie and New Zealand stats are correct). Getting grateful does wonders for serotonin release and overall good vibes. So before you hit the sack at night jot down a quick list of 10 things you are grateful for – it’ll juice up your dreams too.

 

4. Meditate

What do Steve Jobs, Google, and Arianna Huffington all have in common? They swear by the power of getting quiet. We’ve all heard the benefits of meditation – and if the brightest and most innovative minds swear by it, I definitely want in!

 

5. Get hot and sweaty daily

Get as creative as you want with this bad boy, whether it’s running an open beach, getting dirty….trail bike riding, hitting the gym, or throwing a frisbee – there just ain’t no better drug than good health. To get out of you had, into your body and shake ship up this summer.

 

Above all have fun. You’ve worked bloody hard this year, to get out there and have the break you deserve.
